The DATA SHEETS collection of drawings of New South Wales Railways locomotives, wagons, buildings and structures are produced to further modellers and enthusiasts appreciation of these subjects, many of which have already been consigned to history. This site will guide you to the collection and indicate what future drawings are planned. On the availability page you will find details about how to purchase copies of the drawings.

WHATS NEW?

After a longer hiatus than I'd anticipated, I have now released:

Five new sheets that detail the overhead wiring that was introduced from 1926 for Electric trains operating in the suburban Sydney region, and later extended to adjoining metroplitan centres to the North, West, Southwest, and South of Sydney.

These sheets detail the designs of catenaries and support structures typically used from 1826, those introduced from c.1968, and from 1989, and the geometry of the setting out of these relative to the track that they serve. All components are dimensioned including the sizes of wiring, and the smaller components of the system are shown to a larger scale. A glossary of the terms used and their meanings is included on one sheet.

  • All sheets are currently available, and are now printed on-demand so the paper is always fresh.

  • I have started working on a new series of coloured drawings that depict the liveries that have been used by the NSWR on their locomotives and carriages. These were ostensibly for the purpose of illustrating a book on the subject, but I am now adding further details and making them available for purchase as individual sheets.

  • I have been able to collect some information recently about some of the early NSWR locos and coaching stock, and will be giving these subjects moe attention in the future.
